Presbytery Meeting Highlights

The Presbytery of Southern Kansas gathered for the last meeting of the year on November 18 at First Presbyterian in Wichita. Our host pastor, Emily Knoth welcomed us and with Rev. David Gambrell, led an inspiring worship service. The afternoon was filled with good news, including these highlights:

• The installation of moderator Sally Shattuck (RE, Ashland) and moderator-elect Christy Kass, (RE, Hutchinson).

• The acknowledgement of retirement and celebration of the ministry of Rev. David Kincaide, outgoing moderator and TE at McPherson.

• The celebration of a new position for the Presbytery of Southern Kansas, with a new staff person we already know well: Rev. Doris Evans, (TE, Garden City) will now serve the Presbytery as Associate Executive Presbyter. She will be half-time at Garden City and half-time as AEP.
