First Presbyterian Church of McPherson, 1440 N. Main, McPherson, invites you and the people of our presbytery to the August offering in the church’s Welcome Wednesday series, August 20th at 7:00 p.m. Our guest speaker that night will be Kevin Hadduck.

Kevin has served as a writing mentor for the Palestinian advocacy group, We Are Not Numbers (www.wearenotnumbers.org), beginning with a writing workshop he conducted for the group in Beirut in the summer of 2017. A published poet, Kevin is the author of Beloved Brother, Beloved Sister: Poems for Palestine. He has a firsthand knowledge of the tragic situation which the Palestinian people in that area have experienced for many years, and of the ongoing crisis which they are currently enduring. Kevin has been blessed with many friends and acquaintances among Palestinians, primarily in or from Gaza and in Lebanon, as well as others in Syria and Jordan. Among many of his friends who live in Gaza is a family whose young daughter was recently killed by an Israeli rocket.
Most of us in this country have heard only limited information about this topic and the information we have received has been primarily from the perspective of the Israeli government. Kevin hopes to return soon to Lebanon. We encourage you to be here that evening to hear his impressions and experiences in that land whose people have suffered so much.
