A Vision Statement for the Presbytery of Southern Kansas

At the fall leadership retreat, the Presbytery Coordinating Team adopted this Vision Statement:

Vision Statement for the Presbytery of Southern Kansas

Our Presbytery courageously embraces God’s new future. We believe our calling is not to preserve what once was, but to become what God is fashioning in us and through us, here and now.

We respond with agility and compassion to the needs of churches and leaders as they seek to reach the world today. We nurture community and listen deeply to the Spirit’s movement among us. With humility and hope, we discern together how Christ’s love invites us to enact justice, mercy, and peace. We commit ourselves to fostering spaces of boundless hospitality, authentic worship, and transformative service, trusting that God is ever calling us forward.

Rooted in the gospel and open to the winds of change, we dedicate ourselves to being the church that is and will be: reformed and always being reformed, subject to the Word of God.
